Overview
Lake County is situated between the quiet mystique of Reelfoot Lake and the majestic vista of the Mississippi River. A large portion of Lake County comprises the Reelfoot Lake area and is primarily driven by tourism and agriculture. Lake County is located in the extreme northwest corner of Tennessee and is home to the $53 million Port of Cates Landing, a slack water public port located at one of the most strategic points along the Mississippi River that has loading and unloading capabilities for various raw and finished products with barges, rail and ground transportation.
